– Panopticon Pandemonium

Panopticon Pandemonium

In Panopticon Pandemonium you get the chance to run the controversial Panopticon. A prison system designed by the British philosopher and social reformer Jeremy Bentham.

The design of his theoretical prison system allows for a large number of inmates to be observed by a single watchman without the inmates being able to tell whether or not they are being watched. Although it is physically impossible for the watchman to observe all cells at once, the fact that the inmates cannot know when they are being watched means that all inmates may act as though they are watched at all times, effectively controlling their own behaviour.

Bentham’s design however never came to be built but in Panopticon Pandemonium you will have the opportunity to determine once for all if you can successfully maintain order.
